In the warm sapphire waters of the Gulf of Thailand, Cambodia’s islands nestle like dazzling natural jewels. Song Saa Private Island lies secluded in this magnificent seascape, just 35 minutes by boat from the port of Sihanoukville. Most of the islands remain undeveloped – deserted oasis of virgin rainforests, tropical reefs and glistening white beaches.

As our guest, you’ll be among a handful of lucky adventurers to experience this beautiful, untouched paradise. Walk among old-growth rainforest, watch dazzling reef fish swim under your villa or see rare hornbills land on your balcony. In this private intimate setting, you will lose yourself in the natural world. No intrusions. No work. Nothing but play.

As Cambodia’s first luxury private island resort, we are committed to maintaining the natural assets that make this location so unique. If you are in search of a truly private tropical island experience, where you can forget the bustling world, few places rival Cambodia’s islands.

The resort spans the islands of Koh Ouen and Koh Bong, connected by a footbridge over a marine reserve we have established to safeguard the islands’ reefs and marine life including turtles, seahorses and exotic species of tropical fish. It features luxury OverWater, Jungle and Ocean-View villas built with sustainable materials and with the deepest respect for the natural environment.

At the resort’s heart is a world-class restaurant, spectacularly positioned just off the island’s shoreline. A short stroll on the boardwalk will leave you perfectly positioned to take in dramatic sunsets, seascapes and starry nights.

The concept behind Song Saa Private Island was born the day the couple returned from their honeymoon. After getting married, they spent some time on the islands and fell in love with this remarkable tropical environment with its pristine beaches, rainforests and vibrant communities. So, when the opportunity to create something spectacular in this part of the world came up, they jumped.

Since then they’ve broken new ground in Cambodia, becoming the first to develop a private island and setting new standards for sustainability, community development and luxury accommodation in the still undiscovered Koh Rong Archipelago. Rory and Melita are now firmly focused on a prosperous future for their paradise found, and on building new opportunities for the communities that surround the twin islands.

They are also looking ahead for new opportunities to bring their vision of world-class sustainable luxury to other parts of Cambodia and Southeast Asia.

Melita is the creative mind behind the resort’s architecture, master planning and interior design. Rory brings a wealth of experience as a successful property developer and marketing executive to his role as Chairman of the resort.
